Hanson School District

Hanson high school band and choir members traveled to Gregory on Tuesday, November 23, to participate in the Region V Music Festival.

Throughout the day, 110 choral participants and 86 band members within the area practiced their musical pieces.  After hours of practicing, the participants performed at a concert in the Gregory Memorial Auditorium.  

Guest choir director was Dr. Timothy Woods, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. 
Guest band director was Dr. Rolf Olson, Director of Bands and Department Chair at NSU in Aberdeen.

Hanson choir members that were selected to participate were: Sopranos: Maryn Somerville, Skyler Haiar, Grace Arend; Altos: Annalyse Weber, Erin Dewald, Destiny Haag; Tenors: Gage Mentele, Eric Haag; and Basses: Christian Jarding, Gavin Whitledge.

Members of the Hanson band involved in the festival were: Flute: Emalea Nelson, Jalyn Kampshoff, Elizabeth Rassel; Clarinet: Stephanie Aulner; Alto Saxophone: Taylor Schroeder; Bari Saxophone: Colton Dillon; Trumpet: Jonathan Aulner; French Horn: Tannah Peterson; Tuba: Doug Nelson; and Percussion: Jaycee Heezen.
