Hanson School District

On Saturday, December 4, the Junior High Girls Cornbelt Conference Basketball Tournament was held at Hanson High School. The Hanson girl’s team ended the tourney in first place.

For their first game of the day, the young Beaverettes played Bridgewater-Emery, defeating the Huskies, 38-21. Taziah Hawkins led the team with 16 points. Claire Bridge added six points. Kendra Endorf and Paige Kayser had four points each.

For the second round of the conference tourney, the Beaverettes beat Freeman, 36-19. Leading scorer was Hawkins with 10 points. Dana Degen contributed eight points while K. Endorf and Brooke Endorf put up five points apiece.

For the last game of the day, Hanson faced Howard in the championship game. The Hanson Beaverettes defeated the Howard Tigers, 24-13, to become the 2021 Conference Champions. Bridge led the team in scoring with nine points followed by Hawkins tallying eight points. Kayser added four points while K. Endorf scored three points.

With the victories in the tournament, the eighth grade record stands at 11-1.
