On Friday, December 3, the Hanson Beaverettes hosted the Centerville Tornadoes for their first game of the season.

The Beaverettes jumped out to an early lead and were up by four at the end of the first quarter, 13-9. The ladies extended their lead in the second quarter and entered the locker room at half time still up, 28-17. The third quarter was a big quarter for the Beaverettes, making a 24-point run.  Third quarter score was 52-26. The Beaverettes continued to extend their lead in the fourth.  Final score was Hanson 63, Centerville 37.

Eliza Oltmanns led all scorers with 18 points while Alyssa Moschell chipped in 17 points. 

Annalyse Weber had seven assists and six steals to help get the victory over the Tornadoes.  Oltmanns tallied seven steals while Karlie Goergen had six.

Leading rebounders in the win were Moschell with eight boards and Weber with four.

Team shooting for the varsity was 25-of-53 from the field (47%); and 7-of-13 from the free throw line  (54%).

The varsity team’s record moves to 1-0.

The junior varsity also triumphed over the Tornadoes, 39-5. Paige Endorf was the leading scorer with 10 points. Skylar Holm added eight points to the score board while Oltmanns had seven points. Peighten Wallace, Kylie Haiar, and Cadence Jarding contributed four points apiece in the game.

Top rebounders were Oltmanns with four boards followed by Holm with three. Haiar led the team in steals with four while Endorf followed her with three to conclude the win over the Tornadoes.

The JV team’s record moves to 1-0.

Hanson will play the Ethan Rustlers on Saturday, December 11, at home.
