The Hanson Beavers took on the Potter County Battlers on Saturday, January 22, in an afternoon game at the 40th Annual Hanson Boys Corn Palace Classic in Mitchell.
The Beavers fought hard but fell to the Battlers, 69-59. Leading the team offensively was Ethan Cheeseman with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Noah Price put up 14 points, five assists, one block, and four rebounds to finish the game. Kade Waldera and Luke Haiar put up seven points apiece. Kade Waldera added five rebounds. Haiar chipped in four assists.
The team shot 22-of-53 (41.5%) from the field; hit six-of-20 (30%) from three-point range; and sank nine-of-14 (64.3%) from the free throw line.
With the loss, the Beavers’ record moved to 7-4.
The Beavers host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Tuesday and will play Bridgewater-Emery in Alexandria on Friday.
