Five Hanson high school students competed in the State Powerlifting Meet at Sioux Falls Lincoln in Sioux Falls on Sunday, March 16.
Weston Kayser competed in the 148.8 pounds and under weight class and placed first overall. Kayser lifted a total of 1,010 pounds. He broke the state bench press record for his weight class with a 260 pound lift. Kayser also placed second with best coefficient (pound for pound measurement) of all competitors.
Trent Kayser placed sixth in the 275.5 pounds and under weight class. He lifted a total of 980 pounds.
Brayden Bahmuller lifted a total of 865 pounds in the 198.3 pounds and under weight class and finished in 10th place.
Stetson Riggs lifted a total of 865 pounds in the 181.8 pounds and under weight class and finished ninth overall.
Bridger Yeo competed in the 275.5 pounds and under weight class. Yeo lifted a total of 775 pounds and placed ninth overall.
