The Hanson Beavers have started the season strong with another win at Garretson.  The Beavers traveled to Garretson on Monday, August 30, to take on the Blue Dragons. 

The Beavers got on the board first with Hadley Wallace scoring a five-yard touchdown.  Brock Tuttle made the two-point conversion.  First quarter was 8-0.

In the second quarter, neither team scored until the 3:36 mark.  Hanson’s Tuttle punched in a one-yard touchdown.  Tuttle made the two-point conversion.  Garretson put a drive together and scored late in the first half as Hunter Abraham ran in from 21 yards out. The Blue Dragons two-point conversion failed.  Halftime score was Hanson 16, Garretson 6.

After a scoreless third quarter, Tuttle scored a two-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter.  Tuttle completed the two-point conversion.   With 5:56 left on the clock, Garretson drove down the field and Abraham scored a two-yard touchdown. Jayse Miller converted the two-point conversion.  

The game ended 24-16 in favor of the Beavers.

The Beavers gathered up 310 yards of total offense – 262 rushing yards and 48 passing yards.

Leading the team in offense was Wallace with 19 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown. Tuttle had 94 yards on 20 carries, two touchdowns, and a 44 yard pass reception.  Jackson Jarding had seven touches for 54 yards. Kade Waldera went two-for-four in passing for 48 yards.

Defensive leader were Tuttle with 12 tackles and Jarding with eight.

The Beavers will have their home opener Friday, September 3, against Irene-Wakonda.
