Kade Waldera  looks for an open receiver

The Hanson Beavers hosted Irene/Wakonda on Friday, September 3.   The Beavers opened at home with a win against the Eagles. They now have a 3-0 record.

After a scoreless first half, the Beavers got on the board first at the 11:35 mark with Hadley Wallace scoring a three-yard touchdown. A few plays later, Ethan Cheeseman recorded a 62-yard pick  for a touchdown with Wallace converting the two-point conversion.  Later in the second quarter, the Beavers scored again when Jackson Jarding ran in a six-yard touchdown. With a pass from Kade Waldera, Jarding converted the two-point conversion.  With 1:04 left in the first half, Brock Tuttle punched in a two-yard touchdown with Wallace converting the two-point conversion to end the half.  Halftime score was Hanson 30, I/W 0.

Starting the third quarter, Sutton Dewald ran in a six-yard touchdown. The Beavers then scored later in the third quarter with 4:22 on the clock when Garret Moschell punched in a one-yard run. Third quarter score was Hanson 42, I/W 0.

Early in the fourth quarter, Riley Haynes scored on a 98-yard touchdown run. Final score was 48-0 in favor of the Beavers.

The Beavers racked up 413 yards of total offense – 339 rushing yards and 78 passing yards.

Leading the team in offense was Wallace with 12 carries for 113 yards and a touchdown. Jarding had seven carries for 56 yards and a touchdown. Tuttle, Dewald, Haynes and Moschell marked one touchdown apiece. Waldera went four-of-nine for 74 yards.

Defensive leaders were Wallace with six tackles and an interception.  Ethan Cheeseman had two tackles and two interception.  Lucas Nicholson marked six tackles. The Beavers have a bye this week and will host Viborg-Hurley on Friday, September 17.
