Members of the Hanson varsity girls cross country team  winning the Freeman Academy Invite were (L-R): Erin Dewald, Alyssa Moschell, Cadence Jarding, Taziah Hawkins, Eliza Oltmanns and Reese Marek.

The Hanson cross country team ran at the Freeman Academy Invite on Wednesday, September 8.  

The varsity girls team won the team competition with all six girls placing in the top 15.  Taziah Hawkins was the top runner placing fifth (22:20.30) followed by Cadence Jarding in sixth place (22:43.37).   Alyssa Moschell medaled in seventh place (23:08.15) while Eliza Oltmanns placed eighth (23:16.20).  Others placing for Hanson were Reese Marek, 12th place (23:45.61); and Erin Dewald, 14th place (23:48.69).

In the varsity boys division, Carson Ferry medaled in 13th place (20:55.58).  Anthony Geist crossed the finish line in 16th place (21:19.07) while Will Jarding finished in 26th place (23:39.96).

Jason Porth was the lone runner to place in the junior varsity boys division.  Porth finished in eighth place (17:38.08).

In the junior high boys division, Rhett Marek was the top runner placing sixth (14:14.31) while Braxon DeJong crossed the finish line in 19th place (16:51.85).  Others running in the JH boys division were Dawson Huber finished in 25th place (18:14.68); Nash Hofer, 27th place (19:43.06); and Vincent Olson, 28th place (20:15.95).

The Hanson cross country team will be competing in the Wagner Cross Country Meet on Monday, September 13, at the Pickstown Golf Course.
