The Hanson Beavers hosted the Viborg-Hurley Cougars on Friday, September 17.   The Beavers notched a 34-0 win against the Cougars and improved their record to 4-0 record. 

The Beavers got on the board early with eight minutes left in the first quarter when Jackson Jarding ran in from six yards out. The Beavers missed the conversion.   Hanson scored again when Kade Waldera connected with Riley Haynes for a 49-yard touchdown reception. Hadley Wallace completed the conversion.  First quarter ended with the Beavers leading 14-0.

Starting the second quarter, Jarding ran in a six-yard touchdown. The Beavers then scored later in the third quarter with nine seconds on the clock when Waldera threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Jarding. The first half ended with a score of 26-0 in favor of the Beavers.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Beavers scored in the fourth with Brock Tuttle punching in a three-yard run.  Jarding made the conversion. Final score was Hanson 34, Viborg-Hurley 0.

The Beavers racked up 312 yards of total offense – 200 rushing yards and 112 passing yards. 
Leading the team in offense was Jarding with nine carries for 33 yards, 37 yards receiving and three touchdowns.  Tuttle had 13 carries for 70 yards and one touchdown. Wallace had 14 carries for 86 yards.  Haynes had two catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.  Waldera went three-for-10 for 112 yards in passing.

Defensive leaders for the Beavers were Tuttle with eight tackles followed by Haynes with four tackles,  two of which were sacks.  Jarding and Wallace both had an interception.
The Beavers will host Deubrook Area on Friday, September 24, for homecoming.
