Hanson seventh grade volleyball team won the Wagner Junior High Volleyball Tournament. The Hanson seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams competed in the Wagner Junior High Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, September 25, in Wagner.

The seventh grade team won the tournament, defeating Bon Homme in their first match with set scores 25-17, 22-25 and 15-11.  In their second match, the young team beat Burke with set scores: 23-25, 25-15 and 15-12.  The Beaverettes faced Parker in the championship match.  The team was victorious over Parker with set scores, 25-8 and 25-22.

Leading the team was Audrina Waldera serving 26-of-31 with nine aces.  Alivia Bender went 22-of-26 in serves with five aces.  Others contributing aces were Ava Doyle, four; Jacey Schoenrock, four; Jozlynn Tegethoff, two; Hannah Easton, two; Lily Bahmuller, one; Lacey Easton, one; and Myah Stueven, one.

The seventh grade served 128-of-171 (75%) and moved their record to 8-0-3.

The eighth grade team placed third overall.  In their first match, the team beat Andes Central/Dakota Christian in three sets.  Set scores were: 25-11, 23-25 and 15-10.  The young Beaverettes  lost to Bon Homme in their second match.  Set scores were: 25-27, 25-16 and 10-15.  In the third place match, the eighth grade defeated Gregory in two sets, 25-12 and 25-18.  Claire Bridge led the team in serving going 36-of-38 with five aces.  Marah Doyle went 28-of-32 in serves with seven aces.  Others contributing aces were Paige Kayser, six; Brooke Endorf, three; Isabel Kayser, one; and Taryn Holm, one.

The eighth grade served  146-of-169 (86%) and their record stands at 8-3-3.
