On Tuesday, October 5, the junior high volleyball teams traveled to Centerville to take on the Centerville Tornadoes.

The Hanson sixth grade volleyball team fell to Centerville in two sets. Set scores were 18-25, 25-27. Leading the team was Isabella Weber serving 13-for-16 with four aces. Annalynn Mentele tallied one ace and served five-for-seven. Brooklyn Schroeder served four-for-six and added two aces.

Overall, the team served 30-for-43 (70%). The sixth grade record changed to 1-1-3.

For the seventh grade match, the team was victorious against Centerville. The team won in two sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-17. Isabel Kayser successfully served five aces and went nine-for-10. Audrina Waldera served six-for-10 and completed five aces. Ava Doyle tallied four aces and served five-for-seven. Jacey Schoenrock and Jozlynn Tegethoff contributed one ace each.

For serving, the team went 22-for-49 (67%). Their record advanced to 11-0-3.

For the eighth grade match, the eighth grade team took a victory in two sets. Set scores were 25-18 and 25-19. Dana Degen led the team serving a perfect 10-for-10 with two aces. Taziah Hawkins contributed five aces going five-for-nine on serves. Paige Kayser went seven-for-10 and added four aces.

The eighth grade team served 39 for 40 at 80%. Their record improved to 11-3-3. 

The eighth grade travels to Mitchell today to take on the Mitchell Christian Golden Eagles.

The sixth grade will be in Mt. Vernon on Friday, October 8, to play the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans.
