The Hanson Beavers traveled to Canistota on Friday, October 8, to play the Canistota/Freeman Pride. The Beavers got a 32-24 win and remain undefeated at 7-0.

The Beavers started the game hot, scoring at the 11:09 mark in the first quarter. Brock Tuttle ran in from five yards out for a touchdown. Tuttle completed the conversion.  At the 5:53 mark, Tuttle scored again from eight yards out and completed the conversion.  First quarter ended with a score of 16-0 in favor of the Beavers. 

With a minute left in the half, Kade Waldera picked off the Pride for a 30-yard pick six. Tuttle completed the conversion. The Pride then got on the board with nine seconds left in the second quarter with a 13-yard pass for a touchdown and they made the conversion.  Half time score was 24-8 in favor of the Beavers.

In the third quarter, the Pride came out hot as they scored at the 11:02 mark on a 24-yard touchdown run and they made the conversion.  In the next Beavers’ possession, the Pride stopped the Beavers and found the endzone on a seven-yard touchdown and completed the conversion.   With the score, the game was all tied up, 24-24, at the end of the third quarter.

With both teams standing strong on defense in the fourth quarter, the Beavers finally scored with nine second left in the game as Tuttle punched in from one yard out, giving the Beavers the lead.   Jackson Jarding completed the conversion. The Pride then took a shot deep, but were intercepted by Hadley Wallace. This made the final score 32-24 in favor of the Beavers.

The Beavers had 182 yards of total offense – 160 rushing yards and 22 passing yards. 

Leading the team in offense was Tuttle with 16 carries for 68 yards and three touchdowns. Wallace had 12 carries for 52 yards and two receptions for 10 yards. Jarding had nine carries for 36 yards. Waldera went four-of-nine for 22 yards.

Defensive leaders were Tuttle with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery. Wallace had six tackles and an interception. Waldera tallied four tackles and one interception.

The Beavers host the Howard Tigers on Friday, October 15, for their last regular season game.
