Hanson's Kate Haiar goes up strong at the net for a block against the Ethan Rustlers.

The Hanson high school volleyball team competed against the Ethan Rustlers at home on  Thursday, October 14.  The match was designated as Dig Pink Night. 

Hanson was defeated by the Rustlers in three sets with set scores: 13-25, 21-25, 16-25. 

Leading the varsity team was Kate Haiar who put down four kills. Erin Dewald and Kate Haiar tallied five kills apiece.  Avery Moschell marked three kills while Kylie Haiar  and Jalyn Kampshoff added two kills each. For serving, Kiana Berg, Kampshoff and Dewald completed one ace apiece.  Kampshoff recorded 13 successful set assists in the match.

 Defensively, Taylor Schroeder led the team in digs with a total of 16 followed by Ky. Haiar with 10.  Skylar Holm and Kampshoff added seven digs each followed by Dewald with five digs.

 For the junior varsity team, the Hanson overpowered the Rustlers in three sets. Set scores were 12-25, 25-11, and 15-6. Ky. Haiar led the team with six completed kills. Moschell and Paige Endorf tallied five kills each. For serving, Moschell totaled four aces followed by Peighten Wallace and Kennedy Bender with two aces each. Wallace successfully completed 11 set assists.

 On defense, Moschell had the only block of the match. For digs, Cadence Jarding put up 17 digs followed by Erica Endorf with eight. Bender added four digs.

 The C team triumphed over Ethan in two sets, 25-22 and 25-18.

 The volleyball team will be in Scotland on Monday, October 18, and in Freeman on Tuesday.
