The local Elks Hoop Shoot Contest was recently held at Hanson School during physical education classes.
Approximately 103 Hanson students competed in the local contest. Winners of the six divisions were: Boys, age 8-9: Hank VanDover, 12; Girls, age 8-9: Skya White, 14; Boys, age 10-11: Hudson Oltmanns, 11; Girls, age 10-11: Neecee Suber, 12; Boys, age 12-13: Jett Jager, 14; Girls, age 12-13: Hannah Easton, 15.
By winning the local contest, the students now advance to the District Elks Hoop Shoot in Huron on Saturday, January 8.
The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free throw contest for children ages 8 to 13. The program is free to all contestants and provides youth an opportunity to compete, connect and succeed through hard work and healthy competition.
