Hanson School District

On Tuesday, January 25, the Hanson girls’ basketball team took on the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks at home in a doubleheader with the boys’ basketball team. 

The varsity defeated the Blackhawks, 47-39, with Annalyse Weber leading the team with 16 points, five assists and five steals.  Following Weber was Karlie Goergen with 10 points. Alyssa Moschell cashed in eight points and was the top rebounder with six rebounds. 

Overall, the team shot 46% (18/39) from the field goal; and 57% (8/14) from the free throw line.

The varsity win advanced their record to 10-3.

The junior varsity notched an intense win against the Blackhawks with the final score, 28-27.   The leading scorer was Cadence Jarding with 10 points followed by Erica Endorf with five.  Eliza Oltmanns put up four points . 

Leading the team defensively was Oltmanns with four steals and Avery Moschell had three steals. 

Kylie Haiar was the top rebounder with eight rebounds followed by Oltmanns with six. Jarding grabbed four rebounds. 

The JV’s record is currently 13-1.

The C team also defeated the Blackhawks, 28-16, with Taziah Hawkins leading the team in points with eight. Also helping the team offensively was Olivia Kayser with seven points. Other contributors were Jersey Kampshoff and Brooke Endorf with four points apiece.

The C team record is now 4-3.

The Beaverettes host the Bridgewater-Emery Huskies on Friday in a doubleheader with boys basketball team.   Game times are as follows:  boys C-team - 3:00 PM; JV girls - 4:00 PM; JV boys - 5:00 PM; varsity girls - 6:15 PM with the varsity boys to follow.  All games will be played in the school gym.
