The Alexandria American Legion Auxiliary Unit #41 is proud to announce the selection of Kennedy Bender, Erin Dewald and Karlie Goergen as delegates to South Dakota Girls State which will be held on the campus of the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD. The delegates will arrive the afternoon of Monday, May 30, 2022, and be in attendance on site through noon on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
The entire week's activities are a crash course in civics, citizenship, government, Robert's Rule of Order, as well as structure, creativity, high energy activity and new friendships.
The young ladies presented themselves well during their interviews. The auxiliary is confident that the young ladies will represent Hanson School, ALA Unit #41 and the Alexandria community with grace and dignity.
